from an Empire. Being the British Empire.
This
is not true.
The
first country, that liberated itself from an Empire were the “7
United Provinces” (the Netherlands), who gained their freedom from
the Spanish Empire, after a war, that lasted for 80 years. It ended
in 1648 with the birth of a glorious Republic.
