As an ALDF ally, you know that the law is the only protection that animals have from harm -- and ALDF is the voice for animals in the legal system. You are why we are able to continue to fight animal cruelty in court and keep animals out of harm’s way.

We’ve been able to claim victories such as:

• Freeing Ricky the Bear. After 16 years of pacing a 250-square-foot cage eating corn and dog food at Jim Mack's Ice Cream in Central Pennsylvania, Ricky the Bear is living the good life at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keensburg, Colorado. Bears in captivity can live for up to 40 years. That means this 19 year old still has half of her normal lifespan to enjoy the rolling grasslands and an eight-foot deep pond at her disposal. She has you to thank for that.
• Helping to End SeaWorld San Diego’s Orca Breeding Program. It’s because of you that we were able to help secure a permit condition that, if SeaWorld uses the permit, would require the amusement park to phase out the use of orcas at its San Diego facility. This is the latest victory ALDF has achieved in its extensive legal and legislative efforts to end the exploitation of orcas for entertainment.
