THINK GLOBAL, ACT LOCAL

Demand an end to fracking in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana

Verenigd Links,
The Botswana government has sold the rights to frack in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, one of Africa's largest protected conservation zones, to UK–based oil company Karoo Energy. Please sign this petition to say no to fracking in the national park. Demand that Karoo Energy withdraw from their plans to frack in the park, and that the government do not allow any further fracking in this ecologically delicate area.
Fracking puts both the human and animal population at risk of habitat loss, water scarcity, water pollution, environmental degradation, soil pollution, and disease. Tell the government and Karoo Energy to take responsibility, and to agree not to cause Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and its inhabitants irreversible damage through fracking.
Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park relies on a delicate and complex ecological balance in order to thrive, and it is in the interests of both locals and the wider global community to protect it. Please let President Khama and Karoo Energy know that we value national parks over fracking.
